Vein and Tattoo Removal

Some marks on our bodies are part of a beautiful memory; others, not so much. Tattoo removal is an easier process today, where treatment using lasers like the pico lasers. Pico lasers creates an intense photothermal impact in trillionths of a second, targeting the chromophore or the coloured pigments in the skin with minimal thermal heat. This makes the treatment a comfortable experience with minimal or no downtime.

At Halley Medical Aesthetics, we have the Fotona PQX Picolaser (Fotona StarWalker PQX Picolaser) and the CynoSure PicoSure Laser that allow us to deliver three different laser wavelengths of 532nm, 755nm, and 1064nm.
  • The 532nm wavelength offers effective treatment of “sunset colors” (e.g. red, yellow, and orange) which are typically hard to correct.
  • The 755nm wavelength targets black, blue, and green tattoo inks.
  • The 1064nm wavelength is able to treat black ink in darker skin type patients.

Other than the pico lasers, the Q-Switched Laser is also used by doctors to reduce the appearance of tattoos.

Lasers can also be used to treat and remove spider veins and varicose veins. Varicose veins are twisted and enlarged veins that run close to the surface of the skin and look like red and sometimes purple wiggly lines. Spider veins are small varicose veins and have a web-like appearance, hence the name. There is no downtime with these procedures.
