Threadlift - Halley Medical Aesthetics

Ever looked in the mirror and given the sides of your face a little tug to watch the skin stretch and the lines disappear? A threadlift does just that, with no surgery involved.

What is a threadlift?

Threadlift is a minimally invasive treatment for tightening the skin, contouring and rejuvenating the face, neck and eye area, and enhancing the shape of the nose too. During the procedure, threads with anchors, like cones, are inserted under the skin and act as scaffolds to lift sagging skin. The threads also stimulate the skin over time to produce collagen for a long-lasting and natural-looking lift. No incisions are made and no stitches are necessary. The threads are eventually fully absorbed within the body.

Two main classes of threads are used:

  1. Silhouette Soft This is a thread made of Poly L-lactic Acid (PLLA), which has cones made of the same material attached to the thread for anchoring the thread to the skin. The Silhouette Soft® technique lifts and positions sagging mid-face tissue, and it is recommended for correcting signs of aging in the nasolabial fold, the expression lines, and the jowls. Silhouette Soft is also effective for the neck and the brows.
  2. Polydioxanone (PDO) PDO threads go by different names, including Ultra V Lift, ART Lift, and DuoLift. This non-surgical Poly L-lactic Acid face-lifting technique uses absorbable ultra-fine threads called polydioxanone (PDO) to continuously stimulate collagen synthesis under skin. Made by Korean companies, the threads use cogs (tiny hooks) within the threads for anchoring. They are particularly suitable for nose threadlifts.

How are the threads used?

  1. Face contouring for a more youthful look and sharper features.
  2. Lifting sagging jawline, cheeks and the mid-face, neck, and undereye area.
  3. Enhancing the nose bridge, making the nose look sharper and lifted.
