Laser Skin Resurfacing - Halley Medical Aesthetics

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Walking on the beach does wonders for our feet, because the sand polishes away at the rough skin and in such a gentle manner. Fractional laser skin resurfacing has the same effect on the skin, where roughness and unevenness on our face and neck can be smoothened with the help of lasers. It is also effective for treating acne scars and pigmentation.

Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

Although we rely on the body’s natural process of skin renewal to heal wounds, lighten scars and get rid of dead skin cells, we occasionally need to call in external help. This is especially so as we age and the skin’s capacity for renewal diminishes drastically. Conventional CO2 lasers have a downtime of two weeks or more due to the peeling off of skin. At Halley, we use the fractional CO2 laser, which uses computer-generated, pixelated, and electronically-generated grids to target small microscopic areas over the face of surface area. These lasers remove the superficial to middle layers of the skin in tiny dots all over the face to promote new skin growth, stimulate collagen, and even help remove superficial pigmentation as well. Because the targetted areas are microscopic, the unaffected areas help to heal the affected areas, reducing the downtime from two weeks to five days.

Fraxel® Dual Laser

The Fraxel Dual Laser uses a focused beam of light for reducing skin irregularities like scars or blemishes and for skin rejuvenation. It is an all-rounder, being able to improve skin texture, attack brown spots and scars, and stimulate collagen production. And being non-ablative (which means it tackles only the deeper layers of the skin, leaving the surface layer intact), the Fraxel Dual Laser promotes new skin growth from inside out, offering faster healing, optimal results with less redness, and less downtime than ablative lasers.

Fractional Erbium Laser

The fractional erbium laser ablates or removes a very fine layer of the epidermis (top layer of skin) in a controlled manner to reveal skin that is smoother and younger looking. This laser treatment not only activates collagen to tighten the skin, it also helps to smoothen out superficial facial wrinkles and reduce acne scarring and pigmentation. It can be used to remove skin lumps and bumps as well.

Micro-Laser Peel

Our skin can also be resurfaced with a micro-laser peel, where superficial unhealthy skin is exfoliated through a laser treatment to reveal healthy, smooth skin with lots of glow.
