Ultherapy® - Halley Medical Aesthetics

We have to admit it: We love our phones for the convenience they bring — and for the photo apps that take 10 years off our selfie faces! The apps are so powerful in waving a magician’s wand over our faces, that we wish we could do the same in real life, right? With Ultherapy, that overall uplift and toning is possible.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive, no-downtime skin tightening treatment that is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It uses ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process to lift, tone, and tighten loose skin. Your skin’s response to this energy is to recondition tired skin by stimulating the growth of fresh, collagen. The result is a tightening and gradual lifting — or shifting — of the skin back into its more youthful position and form-fitting shape.

Who is it suitable for?

As the signs of age start setting in from our 20s, it is never too early to start maintaining good skin. In our 30s and beyond, bone resorption kicks in, where bone tissue is absorbed by the body. With the bone mass that props up our flesh and skin shrinking, facial drooping sets in. Photo-aging also contributes to the wrinkles, folds, and loose skin that start to show on our faces in the jowls, brow, and undereye areas.

How does Ultherapy generate collagen?

Because Ultherapy can be applied with much precision, doctors are able to tighten soft tissue and skin with pin-point accuracy. Ultrasound energy is directed 1.5mm, 3.0mm, and 4.5mm underneath the skin without disrupting the surface. Hence it can target and treat the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS), a layer of fibrous tissue beneath the surface that helps give the face its shape. The body’s regenerative response is then triggered, rejuvenating collagen and resulting in a tighter firmer appearance. The Ulthera device is versatile and is effective for lifting, contouring, and shaping the face, lifting droopy eyelids, smoothening wrinkles, reducing the appearance of eyebags, and tightening sagging skin on the cheeks, neck, and eye areas. It is also effective for enhancing and sharpening certain facial features and the overall shape of the face. Ultherapy can be used on men and women in their 20s to maintain firmness in the face and provide spot treatment in areas that show early signs of age, like our eyebags, cheeks, jowl area, and brows. Ultherapy is also good for slimming down chubby or “chipmunk cheeks”. For more mature patients, Ultherapy is effective for lifting and contouring sagging areas due to ageing. Other than the full face, it is also suitable for the spot treatment of delicate areas such as our eyebags, cheeks, jowl area, brows, and neck.
