Laser Rejuvenation

You don’t need to be a Star Wars fan to know that lasers are powerful weapons.

Laser treatments can address a multitude of skin problems to rejuvenate our skin. Lasers can fight everything from pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and acne scars, to large pores and uneven skin texture so that you look fresh and rejuvenated. Lasers can also bring a glow back to dark, dull-looking skin by removing the top layer of unhealthy, dead skin cells.

They are equally effective for rejuvenating targeted parts of the face, like the neck and even the eye area. But not all lasers are the same, so it is important to get the right laser for your needs.

At Halley Medical Aesthetics, we have many lasers from both the non-ablative and ablative categories for a no downtime and non-invasive way of rejuvenating your skin and here they are:

1.  Pico lasers

Customised Laser Treatment for Face Aesthetics Singapore

One cannot have enough of pico lasers like the Fotona PQX Picolaser (Fotona StarWalker PQX Pico Laser) and Cynosure’s PicoSure Laser. That’s because this group of lasers give out the fastest flash of laser energy amongst all the lasers available today at one trillionth of a second to target problem areas.

As such, pico lasers are able to deliver the highest concentration of energy with even more pulses of laser energy to rejuvenate our skin by:
  • Removing pigmentation.
  • Lightening blemishes, freckles, and acne scars.
  • Improving skin tone and texture.
  • Erasing fine lines and wrinkles.
What makes pico lasers even more attractive is their ability to deliver an intense blast of energy within a very short period of time. This scatters the pigmentation and blemishes in our skin into tiny dust-like particles without heating up the skin significantly. These particles are then absorbed by the lymphatic system and eliminated naturally.

Downtime is almost minimal with the pico lasers since there is little or no heat involved which would damage the skin. It is not just suitable for overall face rejuvenation but it can also be used to target wrinkles in the eye and rejuvenate the neck area too.

But because the two pico lasers – the Fotona PQX Picolaser (Fotona StarWalker PQX Pico Laser) and PicoSure – emit different wavelengths with different yet synergistic benefits, our doctors at Halley Medical Aesthetics recommend that you combine both lasers to reap the full benefits of pico lasers with “Halley’s Pico Power of 3” laser programme.

Halley’s Pico Power of 3” is a bespoke laser programme where our doctor uses the range of laser wavelengths available – 532nm, 755nm, and 1064nm – to create a pico laser treatment that is customised to the skin condition and preferences of the patient.

The pico laser treatment is best paired with the Rejuran Tone-Up Booster for its wound healing, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative capabilities, which make it a suitable companion for our skin after a laser treatment. It can also lighten pigmentation and even out skin tone for brighter and healthier skin!

2. Halley’s Fotona4D Laser

fraxel laser, fraxel, fraxel dual, halley medical aesthetics, dr terence tan, acne, acne scars, pigmentation, pores, brown spots, PicoSure, Picosecond, Fractional CO2, Erbium, CO2, Fractional, skin tone, even skin, tattoo removal, fine lines

Halley’s Fotona4D Laser pairs two complementary laser wavelengths to treat four distinct “dimensions” of the skin to rejuvenate and restore youthfulness to the skin from the inside out. What is unique about this laser skin rejuvenation treatment is that it uses four dimensions (4D) or four steps of lifting, treating both the exterior facial skin and interior oral cavity for a natural-looking, long-lasting lift.

The 4Ds or four steps include:
  • 1D Step 1: SmoothLiftin™
The step tightens and rejuvenates the face from inside the mouth. This treatment generates collagen to help lift and smoothen out wrinkles around the cheeks, mouth, and smile lines.

  • 2D Step 2: FRAC3®
This step targets the deeper lines and large pores to improve the skin texture and overall appearance.

  • 3D Step 3: PIANO®
This step reverses ageing by stimulating collagen-producing fibroblasts to accelerate collagen production to firm the face.

  • 4D Step 4: SupErficial™ Micropeel
Superficial unhealthy skin is peeled off at this step. The micro-laser peel exfoliates the skin to reveal healthy, smooth skin with lots of glow.

3. Fotona SmoothEye Laser for Eye Rejuvenation

The Fotona SmoothEye® treatment utilises the Er:YAG laser beam to tighten loose skin and wrinkles around the eye. The treatment is unique as the inner mucosal layer of the lower eyelid is also treated directly, thereby tightening the ligaments of the lower eyelid. This improves the appearance of eyebags under the eyes and also reduces wrinkles and loose skin around the eyes.

This is a non-surgical treatment that has minimal downtime. The treatment is safe as topical anaesthetic eye drops and eye lubricant will be applied to the eyes and opaque eye shields will be worn on the eyes, just like contact lenses, for protection during treatment. The doctor would then safely treat the inner mucosal surface of the lower eyelid with the laser to tighten the ligaments of the lower eyelid before treating the skin around the eyes.

4. Fraxel Dual Laser

fraxel laser, fraxel, fraxel dual, halley medical aesthetics, dr terence tan, acne, acne scars, pigmentation, pores, brown spots, PicoSure, Picosecond, Fractional CO2, Erbium, CO2, Fractional, skin tone, even skin, tattoo removal, fine lines
The Fraxel Dual laser uses a focused beam of light for skin rejuvenation and reducing skin irregularities like scars or blemishes. This laser is able to improve skin texture, attack brown spots and scars, and stimulate collagen production. And being a non-ablative laser (which means it tackles only the deeper layers of the skin, leaving the surface layer intact), the Fraxel Dual Laser promotes new skin growth from inside out, offering faster healing, optimal results with less redness, and less downtime than ablative lasers. It can be used to target problem spots under the eye and for neck rejuvenation too.

5. Long-Pulsed Laser

Micro-Botox, jaw shaping, fraxel laser, fraxel, fraxel dual, halley medical aesthetics, dr terence tan, acne, acne scars, pigmentation, pores, brown spots, PicoSure, Picosecond, Fractional CO2, Erbium, long- puse, CO2, Fractional, skin tone, even skin, tattoo removal, fine lines

This versatile, no downtime laser can be used to improve skin texture as well as tighten the skin for the face and neck. It addresses enlarged pores by clearing and rejuvenating pores. Only problematic spots are targeted without harming the surrounding tissue. In a separate treatment mode, the Long Pulsed Laser firms the skin through stimulation of collagen production through cells in the skin called fibroblasts. The laser also targets haemoglobin within the blood vessels, removing fine veins and redness caused by inflammation and acne.

5. Q-Switched Laser

This no-downtime laser targets very small pigment cells and particles to even out the skin tone by removing pigments and reduce pore size and fine wrinkles. It can also restore the fresh glow in your face.

7. Laser Treatment for Skin Lumps

Our skin may develop lesions (lumps and bumps) caused by blocked ducts and glands, or coloured spots such as moles. It is best to have them examined by a doctor to make sure they do not require medical attention. Once they are determined to be benign, lasers are effective for their removal. Skin lumps such as milia, syringoma, and moles are effectively removed with lasers.
