Instead of getting upset seeing all those candles on your birthday cake, let them be a reminder that you are a wiser and more confident person with each passing year.
However, we understand that those fine lines and wrinkles, together with the loose and saggy skin are a little harder to embrace. Ageing gracefully is no longer something that is only achievable by celebrities. Here’s our guide to all the non or minimally invasive treatments that can help you look your best self as you move into your 40s and 50s.
If you are looking for an effective skin lifting and skin firming treatment, look no further. Ultherapy is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive, no downtime procedure that lifts and firms our skin by using ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of our collagen and elastin under our skin. That said, you can expect to see natural results that improve over time.
With the visualiser on the Ultherapy machine, doctors are able to see the layers of tissues and where the energy will be targeted, ensuring that the treatment is delivered where it is needed. It can be used to treat your brow area, cheeks, under the chin, neck, and even your décolletage.

Botulinum neuromodulators are no stranger in medical aesthetics and it is known to relax muscles to improve the appearance of fine lines and dynamic wrinkles. It is commonly used to treat frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, and bunny lines.
Besides improving the appearance of the lines on our faces, botulinum neuromodulators can also be used to slim our jaws for us to achieve a more V-shaped face to look younger.
Another function of botulinum neuromodulators that many are unaware of is that they can reverse our U-shaped lips that make us look angry and unapproachable. Downturned mouth corners are common as we age and as our skin sags. Botulinum neuromodulators can be injected into our DAO (Depressor Anuguli Oris) muscles to relax them, lifting our mouth corners for a more approachable look.
3. Dermal filler
Dermal filler is one of the most popular anti-ageing and facial contouring treatments in Singapore. Our face tends to lose volume and hollow out as we age, and dermal fillers are useful for plumping up our skin and smoothing out the static wrinkles to restore our youth.
There are different types of fillers – Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers and non-HA fillers, and HA fillers are differentiated based on their firmness and viscosity. Non-HA fillers, on the other hand, stimulate collagen production to volumise and fill up hollowed, sagging areas. Different types of fillers are suitable for different types of skin concerns, and your doctor is the best person to advise you on which filler is the best for you.
On top of plumping our skin to regain our youthfulness, dermal fillers are also great for facial contouring to improve our appearance and can be used to sculpt our face to achieve a higher nose bridge, fuller apple cheeks, and even plumper lips.

4. Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser treatments can rejuvenate our skin and address many other skin concerns like dull skin, pigmentation, large pores, and uneven skin texture. However, with so many different types of lasers in the market that are used for different skin issues, it can be very confusing for us. It is best to let your doctor know your skin concerns and let him or her recommend the best laser treatment for you.
For example, at Halley Medical Aesthetics, we offer the Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser and the Long Pulsed Laser for improving skin tone and texture, the Fraxel® Dual Laser for rejuvenating the face, neck and eye area, the Fotona SmoothEye Laser for eye rejuvenation, and the PicoSure® Laser for treating wrinkles and fines lines, acne scars, and pigmentation. We also have Halley’s Signature 4D Complete Face Rejuvenation which combines four different laser treatment modes to rejuvenate the skin over a single session.

5. Rejuran Skin Healer
Rejuran Skin Healer hails from Korea and has received a lot of attention for its anti-ageing benefits.
Rejuran Skin Healer contains polynucleotides (PN), a salmon DNA extract that can activate the skin’s self-regenerating ability to heal damaged skin. It repairs the skin cells and stimulates collagen production, improving skin firmness and elasticity. Rejuran Skin Healer is also known to be effective in tackling pigmentation and melasma, improve skin tone, skin texture, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and even improve the appearance of dark eye circles.
Profhilo is pretty new in the market, but it received a lot of attention as the first bio-remodelling injectable treatment with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid (HA) that hydrates and firm up the skin.
Profhilo is injected into our skin at 10 Bio Aesthetic Points to allow for maximum diffusion of its HA complex while minimising bruising. It contains two types of HA and it works by slowly releasing the HA to allow biomodelling to take place. This will kickstart the production of collagen and elastin production in our skin to hydrate, firm, and lift the skin naturally.
Many of these treatments can be combined for optimal results. Find out more about them with our doctors and therapists at Halley Medical Aesthetics. Let’s age gracefully together!
