We can't deny the impact of time on our body but we really don't want to look our age either. If your sagging cheeks, wrinkles, dry skin, and pigments are making you look old and tired, our doctors can help you change that by:
Lifting tired, sagging skin
The soft baby skin that we were born with does not last forever. Saggy skin is a common beauty problem that is, unfortunately, difficult to avoid. Saggy skin has two major causes-the thinning of skin and bone resorption. Thinning skin occurs when collagen in the dermis breaks down, causing the skin to sag or droop. On the other hand, bone resorption is the loss of substance in bones. It creates a smaller skull with bigger eye sockets, resulting in lax and less voluminous skin, which tends to sag.
Ultherapy non-surgical facelift
Ultherapy uses the power of ultrasound to tone, lift, and tighten skin. It is the only non-invasive, non-surgical, no downtime skin tightening procedure approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Ultherapy stimulates the deep structural support layers of the skin-including those typically addressed during a surgical facelift-without disturbing the skin surface. The skin's response to the ultrasound energy is to recondition tired skin by stimulating the growth of fresh, new collagen. This results in the tightening and gradual lifting of your skin back into a more youthful position and form-fitting shape. Other than using it for a full facelift, Ultherapy is often used to firm the neck and the area around the brows and under the chin. This skin tightening treatment is safe, has no downtime, and is highly effective with long-lasting results. Results will unfold over the course of two to three months and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to six months.
Radio frequency (RF)
The technology behind using RF to tighten skin tissue and rejuvenate the skin has improved by leaps and bounds over the years. This non-invasive, no downtime treatment utilises RF energy to lift sagging skin, smoothen facial wrinkles for an instant facelift. This treatment is best for rejuvenating the forehead, under the eyes, cheeks, mid-face, jaw line, and neck.
Thread lifts are a great alternative to conventional anti-aging cosmetic surgeries. As the name suggests, doctors use threads to provide structural support that repositions and lifts the tissues to rejuvenate and create a fuller and younger face. Thread lifts are suitable for patients who want a dramatic lifting effect and facial rejuvenation but don't mind downtime. The thread lifts available in our clinic include:
Voluma liquid facelift
Traditional facelifts are designed to address skin laxity and wrinkles. The Voluma liquid facelift goes hand in hand with such facelifts to combat the effects of aging brought about by bone resorption and subsequent loss in facial volume. During our Voluma liquid facelift, volumising fillers are carefully administered in selected areas to add bulk to the face so as to revolumise and combat the effects of time.
Ironing out wrinkles
As we age, we notice that our bodies are not as robust as they were before. Due to wear and tear of the body, wrinkles are almost inevitable. Static wrinkles, as their name indicates, are wrinkles that are visible regardless of one's facial expression. Their main causes are genes, sun damage, or from sustained wrinkling over a long period of time.
Dynamic wrinkles form when muscles that are attached to overlying skin contract. This causes the skin to bunch together and form lines between the bulk of the muscle.
If you want to refresh your face and get rid of the wrinkles on your forehead, between your brows, crow's feet (laugh lines), and marionette lines, here are the facial rejuvenation options available.
Toxin A ( Dysport® or Xeomin®) is a neuromodulator which relaxes muscles of facial expressions, it is the most commonly administered treatment for dynamic wrinkles. Two or three days following the Dysport® or Xeomin® treatment, the muscles that produce frown lines relax and the wrinkles disappear. Dysport® or Xeomin® can be used to treat frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. It is also effective in jaw slimming through reducing jaw muscles.
Dermal filler rejuvenation
As we grow older, our skull becomes smaller through bone resorption. The resulting skin around the skull becomes more saggy and lax; this will cause a gaunt or aged appearance. Used for anti-aging purposes, dermal filler rejuvenation creates a voluminous and youthful look. It can be administered in the cheeks area to plump up the cheeks for a more youthful look. Or it is used to fill in lines over the nasolabial folds or marionette lines (extending all the way down from the corner of the mouth) or just below the eyes to reduce eye bags.
There are several different brands of filler to choose from, and our doctor will advise you on the best type of filler to use. Hyaluronic acid fillers, for instance, are the fillers that we most commonly use. Hyaluronic acid is a natural compound found in our own skin and is safe for most people. An example of hyaluronic acid fillers is the Juvederm® range of fillers. Sculptra® and Radiesse® are also commonly used in our clinic. These fillers stimulate our body’s own collagen for long lasting effect.
Fractional laser skin resurfacing
Our skin has the ability to replace dead skin cells with new ones and this helps to maintain youthful-looking skin. However, as we age, the skin's capacity for self-renewal diminishes drastically. Sometimes, we need a little boost in the skin renewal department and the fractional laser skin resurfacing treatment is an answer. During fractional laser skin resurfacing, carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers target the water within the skin cells, removing the old layer of skin to reveal new, fresh skin.
Conventional CO2 lasers have a downtime of two weeks or more due to the peeling off of skin. However, we use a new and improved version known as the fractional CO2 laser. The fractional CO2 laser uses computer-generated, pixelated, and electronically-generated grids to target small microscopic areas over the face (20%-40% of surface area). The unaffected areas help to heal the affected areas, reducing the downtime from two weeks to five days.
Facial radiance, erasing pigments
Hyperpigmentation is the darkening of the skin as melanin accumulates. We may develop pigmentation due to sun and environmental damage or it may be left behind after acne heals. Although not health-threatening, pigmentation may result in dull, uneven skin tone which can add years to one's face.
Our laser works by emitting high intensity energy sources, which are absorbed by the melanin in our face. Melanin is removed in the process. That is how skin whitening laser is able to reduce the appearance of dark spots or blemishes. Our skin whitening treatment is a safe, no downtime procedure that removes pigmentation and whitens skin at the same time.
We can't stop time in its track but we can certainly slow down the ageing process and its impact on our skin. Our rejuvenation lasers freshens up and brings radiance to your face. Our lasers even out skin tone by removing pigments and brings a fresh, glittering glow back to the face. It also helps to remove superficial blood vessels and stimulate collagen production. The treatment accentuates reduction of pore size and fine wrinkles too, leaving you with a fresher- and younger-looking skin. Best of all, there is no downtime with this treatment so you can zip in to see our doctor for a quick refresh before heading out for your next appointment.
No downtime acid peels
We need to say bye bye to dead skin cells on our face before we can say hello to the fresh, smooth, and new skin underneath! Exfoliating is essential as it helps to resurface the skin by removing old skin cells and refining the skin's texture, giving it a soft, supple look. Our gentle peel does just that plus there is zero downtime unlike many other acid peels. During the next few days, old skin cells, which are no longer needed or viable, are removed, revealing new, brighter, baby soft skin with smaller pores and less wrinkles.
